Revelations are better than Resolutions

Now that the New Year’s resolutions are part of the daily routine or…forgotten, it’s time to restart. True Story: I had a revelation last week when my washing machine stopped working. It’s only 3 years old and one of those front loading machines. The old top loader lasted 18 years so I’m thinking why did I go for the new model? Then remembered how my computer sometimes freezes, how my Smartphone sometimes doesn’t ring or send emails, and how my modem stops working randomly, and then there’s the smart TV that just isn’t smart, ever! When any of those devices fail the first thing we’re told to do is shut down and restart. The washing machine doesn’t have a shut down button so I unplugged it and plugged it back in. It worked! No service call for $75 and minimal frustration, plus the added satisfaction of working through the issue on my own was very empowering! It reminds me when things aren’t working for me to step away, take a minute, “unplug myself” and go back to it in a calm state, no frustration, and no big deal. I have only one body, one mind, one spirit, and it’s up to me to take care of them. Take care of it, whatever it is.
